The next Karate assessment grading will be Spring 2010: Sunday 6th June 2010.. The grading will be held at Hillcrest Dojo.  Registration for junior (7th Mon and below) gradings 1000 for 1030 start.  Registration for senior (all seniors and juniors 6th Mon and above) gradings 1115 for 1130 start. Dress for gradings clean, pressed white gi (with appropriate mon), and obi.    Gradings fees on application or from Dojo.  Please check your licence & membership, it must be in date, stamped and signed.

Teaching Requirements

Teacher Training

Teacher training takes place at regular intervals.  All Teachers and Instructors must attend these sessions.  See newsletters for details.  email: teachertraining@taifuma.org for further details

Level 6

Probationary Instructor

Candidate should be Ikkyu or above and attended required training  courses

Level 5

Assistant/Junior Instructor

Candidate should be Ikkyu or above, fifteen years of age or over, fulfilled previous requirements, taught the required amount and a variety of  supervised classes

Level 4

Club Instructor

Candidate should be Shodan or above, eighteen years of age or over, fulfilled previous requirements, taught the required amount and a variety of  supervised classes.  Candidate must also have completed an approved Class teaching plan.  Teaching classes on a regular basis.  

SHIDOIN

The teaching rank of Shidoin should be Nidan or above and may be awarded if teaching on a regular basis and has own school or class.

Level 3

Teacher

Menkyo Shoden

Candidate should be Nidan or above, eighteen years of age or over, fulfilled previous requirements, taught the required amount, a variety of  supervised classes and be teaching on a regular basis

SENSEI

The teaching rank of Sensei in general must be Sandan or above - Be teaching on a regular basis and have their own school or class.

Level 2

National Teacher

Candidate must have fulfilled all previous requirements and have taught the required amount of classes on a National level

RENSHI

The teaching rank of Renshi in general must be Yondan or above - Be teaching on a regular basis and have their own school or class.

Level 1

International Teacher

Menkyo Okuden

Candidate must have fulfilled all previous requirements and have taught the required amount of classes on a International level

SHIHAN

The master rank of Shihan imust be Godan or above.

KYOSHI

The master rank of Kyoshi must be Rokudan or above.

Taifu Karate and Kobudo Kai principle Teachers and Instructors must have Instructors Indemnity Insurance, it is their individual responsiblity to make sure that this is kept up to date if conducting classes.  They should also have had an official CRB check if teaching Children and Vulnerable Adults.  All teachers  and instructors must be conversant with the Taifu Karate and Kobudo Kai Child Protection Policy, Vulnerable Adult Policy and 1st Aid report Policy, (including head injury guidelines and in loco parentis guide lines).  Teachers and Instructors must also have had some form of 1st Aid training (Red Cross, St John Ambulance) and have an injury book for loging any occurences, plus the Taifu Karate and Kobudo head injury form.  All instructors must attend the regular instructors training sessions to keep current within the   Taifu Karate and Kobudo Kai.

New  -  BANNERS  -  Made from nylon reinforced PVC, tunnel stitched on all for sides and are available in a selection of colours.
